Tuesday, August 26 – Women’s Equality Day – Commemorates the 1920 adoption of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote. AAUW Flagler County members, guests, and potential new members are invited to join us for a “Dutch treat” lunch at Mezzaluna Pizzeria in the European Village, 101 Palm Harbor Pkwy in Palm Coast to mark the 105th anniversary of women’s suffrage.

Come hear Rutgers Professor Patricia Roos talk about her new, deeply personal book sharing her son’s struggles with mental health and addiction, that led to his death at twenty-five years old. Monday, November 18 – Set Up AAUW Flagler Holiday Tree – 10:00 am at the Flagler County Public Library. Our branch continues its tradition of participating in the community-wide holiday celebration, The Festival of Trees.
Friday, November 22 – Festival of Trees – 6:00 pm at the Flagler County Public Library. Join us to see our beautiful tree decorated to reflect AAUW’s mission of supporting equity for women and girls. There will be over 40 trees and wreaths on display representing community organizations as well as musical entertainment and refreshments.

Thursday, January 9 – AAUW FL Public Policy Issue Forum – 6:00 pm held via Zoom. Topic: Black Girls in Florida Schools. Bayliss Fiddiman, National Women’s Law Center, will join us to
discuss a case study of Black girls in Miami-Dade schools, and their experience with harsh school discipline policies. The girls reported harassment, harm, humiliation and other challenges. Saturday, March 29 – The AAUW Florida Regional Leadership Conference – 10 am to 3 pm at The Villages. The AAUW branches included in the North Region are Lake Sumpter (Host), Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Flagler, New Smyrna Beach, Orlando/Winter Park, Lake Wales & Gainsville. The theme of the conference is Elevating Our Community Impact and sessions on leadership, advocacy, programming, and membership will be included. Registration is $25/person, and a light lunch is included. Carpooling will be coordinated
