Thursday, September 5 – AAUW FL Public Policy Issue Forum – 6:00 pm held via Zoom. Topic: Education and School Board Amendment – Join the League of Women Voters for an update on the outcomes of the Florida 2024 legislative session regarding its impact on education and what we might expect in the 2025 session, along with an overview of the upcoming ballot Amendment to make board elections partisan. Tuesday, October 8 – AAUW FL Public Policy Issue Forum – 6:00 pm held via Zoom.  Topic: LGBTQ+ Families and Florida’s Don’t Say Gay Laws – Join a conversation with Clark University Professor Abbie Goldberg where she shares some findings from her research on Impact of HB 1557 (Florida’s Don’t Say Gay bill) on LGBTQ+ parents in Florida; and we discuss next steps in regard to research and collaborations on this important issue.  Registration required – Meeting Registration – Zoom

Tuesday, October 3 – Banned Books Program – 5:00 pm at the Flagler County Public Library, 2500 Palm Coast Pkwy NW in Palm Coast.  AAUW Flagler’s Reading Women Book Club will participate in the library’s recognition of Banned Books Week.  This year’s featured banned book is Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume.

Friday, November 17 – Festival of Trees – 6:00 pm at the Flagler County Public Library.  Join us to see our beautiful tree decorated with images of well-known female storytellers as we support the National Women’s History Alliance’s 2023 theme, “Women Who Tell Our Stories.”  There will be over 40 trees and wreaths on display representing community organizations, musical entertainment by Shannon Rae.  Refreshments will be served.

Friday, March 22 – Reading Women – 3:00 pm at the Flagler County Public Library, 2500 Palm Coast Pkwy, NW in Palm Coast.  We will participate in the Flagler County Public Library’s annual Flagler Reads Together program with the presentation, ‘An Afternoon with the Rabbi.’  Join Rabbi Merrill Shapiro for an enlightening discussion on the rich history of Judaism and the profound lessons learned from the Holocaust. This thought-provoking event promises to shed light on important historical narratives and foster understanding and empathy.
